One issue I’d like to talk about is the durability of the Creative Vision M’s LCD which is not exactly to die for. I’ve never had it happen to mine (but mine is pretty new.)  I’ve had friends who had this happen to theirs and response from technical support have greatly varied. Two guys I know got a replacement while one had to pay. If you’re gonna try to get a replacement, make sure you didn’t drop the player. If its full of scratches, you’re gonna have a hard case convincing them it’s not due to misuse. Also, avoid piling books and other stuff on top of the player as the LCD’s durability really is pretty suspect. If you’re gonna try to replace it yourself, try to find a local technician in your area to help you with the LCD screen used. Creative doesn’t sell replacement LCD’s on retail so you’ll have to fork out ca$$$h if you send it to their technicians. If you need help or don’t trust your friendly neighborhood tinkerer, try opening it yourself. Leave a Reply |
