Careful, careful to everyone with a Zen Xtra. Creative just released a new firmware upgrade this month but, apparently, it is designed to give you a fit! Lots and lots of people in the Creative Forums are now complaining of problems after installing (or more accurately, trying to install)  the firmware upgrade.

Everything from detection failure with Windows Media Player’s refusal to install, and other issues are being reported.  Guess how happy I am I own a Vision M and refuse to upgrade firmware until after two months of release? :P  Ever since that demonic Creative Labs firmware upgrade that actually removed features (due to legal issues) I’ve been wary of installing new firmware releases until everybody has voiced their complaints.

To the unfamiliar, the Zen Xtra is a really small, high-capacity, pocket-sized music player with a spectacular sound and a really strong body. I know a friend who has dropped his plenty of times with no remarkable damage.

With all the news of the LCD’s in Creative Vision:M’s breaking easily, I think the $28 price tag is a worthy spend. Plus, I can put other stuff there as well like little Tamiya Cars, cables, flash drives, condoms, candies, severed fingers, index cards, casino chips, Mongol pencils, pens, leftover sandwiches, ear cleaners and more.

It’s aerodynamically designed with a drag coefficient of .3 so when it jumps from your bag or our of your firm grasp, you can watch your aluminum case fly like a streaking jetplane into the night. But since it’s so strong, being built out of heavy-duty aluminum only found in the chassis of sports cars, you can be sure your Creative MP3 players are taken care of.

It can actually also fit iPods but I don’t use iPods because I like my Vision:M more. Additionally, you can use the same Itec all-Creative aluminum case for hitting muggers over the head, dropping from tall buildings into the hoods of parked cars or breaking glass windows with much noise.

Personally, I do a lot of CPU-intensive work on my PC and as far as I can tell, on-board chips eat up processing power on your machine.  This means extra load that takes away from your regular processing tasks - like generating thousands of spam webpages in the background while you’re studying an excel spreadsheet, designing a logo on Photoshop and running a raunchy movie  all at the same time.

You’re basically dispensing horsepower to deliver top-notch quality sound.  Standalone cards, even when they’re two years old like mine, has its own dedicated digital sound processor to render its beautiful output.  Until I get a PC that can run 100 things at the same time and not lag, I think standalone cards are still the way to go.

I’m addicted to horoscope. I used to troll alt.astrology in usenet and subscribe to four newspapers just to read what’s in store for my sun sign. I went through a second-hand book binge for astrology books too. It lasted about a year and a couple hundred dollars.

Cellphones used to serve a simple function for me: make calls, receive calls, send text messages, receive text messages. That’s it.

Ringtones never really did anything for me. I could care fish what song played when my butt-ugly boss calls me at 2 am while I delight in deep slumber. I did put in some work for alarm tones though. I sought high and low for the loudest, most obnoxious alarm tone I can find to wake me up in the morning. Kerrrrannggggg!

Cellphone games are a bore to me as well. Once I finished saturating my brain with GTA and Halo, those beep-beep-beep action games just don’t cut it even as a time-waster.

• small Webcasters will shut down entirely
• big Webcasters like Yahoo and Clear Channel will have about 10 minutes of music per 50 minutes of ads - yes, just like the rest of the web
• an intense increase in the number of torrent download activity, just the way the world should be

The other seven cuts are all awesome too and possibly recognizable even to the casual fan.

The songs are mostly positive, even when they are dealing with the eternal teen problems such as no money, no car, no girl. It is refreshing to hear talented musicians singing about life’s everyday ups and downs without whining. Life is taken the way it should be - lightly and with a dose of humor.

This Stray Cats CD is high energy, tight, clean, foot stompin’, toe tappin’, good old rock and roll. It’s dancable, mood-uplifting music that make me want to date a girl named Peggy Sue, grow my hair and pomade it slick all over one more time!

Lots of good deals!  Vintage Creative players!  Brand new and second hand ones!  Awww!

I loved listening to this album.  It was thick, energetic, incredibly melodic and featured Kurt Cobain’s unintelligible singing.   The first single, “Smells Like Teen Spirit” became unexpectedly popular and catapulted the band to superstar status.

It was around this time every other guy I knew wanted to be a rocker.  People were growing their hair long and wearing those silly logging town flannels.  And every garage band that opened shows sang incoherent lyrics over amateur musicianship.  It was both a sad and exciting time.  Bands were getting deals all over the place.

The album owned #17 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, despite only getting three stars out of five when the magazine reviewed it originally in 1991.  Everybody loves a winner.

The worm was W32.Wullik.B, a mass-mailing worm that first appeared in November, 2003, and makes copies of itself in random locations on machines it infects. It is programmed to move to new locations when Windows Explorer browses the folder that it is in, and can be spread to floppy disks and shared network drives.

As a patch-up measure, Creative asked customers who bought the Zen Neeon 5GB players with serial numbers between M1PF1230528000001M and M1PF1230533001680Q to disinfect the systems using anti-virus software, or by manually deleting the worm file from the players.

To be honest Creative Technology MP3 players sucks.

Creative CEO Sim WH must be scratching his head wondering why creative MP3 players (Zen micro, Neeon, etc, etc) just couldn’t compete with Apple Ipod.

In all MP3 market around the world, Apple Ipod is outselling all Creative’s MP3 player by 10 to 1.

In fact, the answer is very simple.

An Apple Ipod is truly made for music lovers, hence it is easy to use and not fill with confusing execution steps just to play a song. It is like a CD player. Nothing complicate, easy one step execution to choose a song, save it, and play it.

Creative MP3 players, on the other hand,  are just too complicated to use. It is build for engineers and geeks, not for music lovers. It is not even meant for ordinary music listeners because the first time you use it, it can be very frustrating to learn to use the player and play the song you want.

Although a Creative has cramped full of  features and selections and what not in its MP3 players, it is too much and confusing and its interactive touch pad is also tough to navigate.

To compare, buying a CD players is better than buying a creative MP3 player. It just shows Apple KNOWS what music lovers all over the world want in an MP3 player. And it also shows Creative has no idea what the consumer want in an MP3 player.

Don’t waste your money on Creative’s product, because you might want to throw them away later. This must be the reason why Paris Hilton ditched her Creative MP3 player.

In other words, Apple is perfect, Creative sucks, and Paris Hilton is the perfect epitome of a music lover.  Thanks for the enlightening wisdom woohoo!!!

Looking at the back from right to left, the second hole is obviously the lineout or headset/speaker and the 3rd is the mic.  There is also a plug before the first, which is for the 5.1 surround, I suppose.

After a lot of searching, I finally got some Audigy docs and according to it:
1 - line/digital out
2 - line in
3 - mic in
4 - line out
5 - line out

If you can see the tiny engraved icons, look for the (()) with the arrow head pointing IN toward the
center of the (()). That’s line in.

Some people claim that Kurt Cobain listened extensively to Automatic for the People sometime before his death on April 5, 1994. I doubt it. The album is not about killing yourself. It was about sadness, almost to the point of celebrating the human emotion of it.

The album was previously voted as the 42nd greatest album of all time on Acclaimedmusic and the 4th best of the 1990’s. I am too lazy to make an account of all my favorite albums to see where it stacks up but it is my #1 sadness album. Fucking Morrissey and Joni Mitchell had nothing on REM on this effort.

It was mostly acoustic and was filled with dark lyrics (many of which ruminated on loss, mortality, loneliness, death and those departed.)

I wish the UFC replace all their American ring girls with more Pride FC girls. They’re way cuter and they don’t do those cheerleader NBA dancing stuff. They just smile and walk and hold the round cards and look fishing cute. Like these girls are saying in the pic, Japanese babes #1!!!!

Additionally, they should bring either Minatauro or Fedor or even his little brother Aleksandyr to UFC to feud with Cro Cop. Who the fish are they gonna seriously play with Cro Cop? Sylvia? Couture? Brandon Vera would have been a good fit but he’s leaving UFC and I suspect Mirko will eat him alive. Arlovski is potentially a good feud but creating a three-way (I’m hoping Minatauro or Aleksandyr) is really exciting!!!

The Fatal1ty 1010 mouse is kickass to look at. But is it half as good to hold?

Honestly, I couldn’t give a shit because I’m all about the joypad baby. Mouse + keyboard gaming just stinks fart to me. Can you guys please release a kickass gamepad in the Fatal1ty line, complete with all the bells and whistles and shit?

At any rate, let’s see what this baby packs:

• 3 Main Firing Buttons. I love this. Really. More firing buttons, more fun. That’s just the way a mouse should work.
• Scroll Wheel with Programmable Button. Typical programmable scroll wheel. Nothing to write home about.
• RapidRes One-Click CPI Resolution Change Button with Changing Light Colors. This is cool. You can change resolution in one fishing click! Click! And it changes colors depending on the resolution you’re currently. The color is a silly feature for me as I probably wouldn’t even bother to look.
• G-Weight Modular Weight System (comes in Light, Medium and Heavy). I honestly think this is too much fuzz about basically nothing.
• 1600 DPI High Definition HD-Optix Optical Engine. Kickass is all I can say. Awww. This is nice work.
